Mansion on Forsyth Park

I painted this scene in oil on panel en plein air while sitting across the street in Forsyth Park; as usual, my three Jack Russell’s were laying on the grass near my feet lazily watching the people passing by. This Mansion on Forsyth Park is now a fabulous and fancy hotel, which also includes a quite wonderful restaurant I’ve frequented a few times with friends. Originally built in 1889 as the private home for Lewis Kayton, this Alfred Eichberg architectural design featured a repeating curved gable around the top of the home and was bookended with two medieval towers.
